Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

ChatDemos is an AI WhatsApp assistant and CRM platform operated by ClosedChats (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data we process on behalf of the businesses that use ChatDemos and how individuals can exercise their rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).

What data we collect

  • WhatsApp messages exchanged with a business using ChatDemos (message content, timestamps, and delivery status).
  • Contact information such as phone number, name, and any details a business records against a contact.
  • Account & usage data for the business operators (login email, settings, and audit events).

Why we use it

To deliver the messaging assistant and CRM features the business has enabled — routing messages, generating AI replies from the business’s own knowledge base, and keeping a conversation history. We do not sell personal data, and message content is not used to train third-party models.

Opt-out (STOP)

You can opt out of messages at any time by replying STOP in the WhatsApp chat. You will be unsubscribed and will no longer receive automated replies or broadcasts. Reply START to resume.

Retention

Businesses can configure how long message history is retained; older messages are deleted automatically once that period passes. Where no limit is set, data is kept until the business deletes it or closes the account.

Your rights

  • Access & portability — request a copy of your data.
  • Erasure— request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”). A business can erase an individual contact and all linked data on request; account owners can request deletion of the whole account.
  • Correction — ask a business to correct inaccurate details.

To exercise a right, contact the business you were messaging, or reach us at the grievance address below and we will route your request.

Security & storage

Data is stored on our self-hosted infrastructure. Access tokens and API keys are encrypted at rest, and access is restricted to the relevant business account.

Grievance officer

For privacy questions or to raise a grievance under the DPDP Act, contact our grievance officer at [email protected]. We aim to respond within the timelines required by law.
